Creativity & Uniqueness

Chris Hammack 2010

Chris Hamack

Chris is a fun instructor to car with.  His western humor carvings are well known throughout the carving and Western Life folks.  Chris started out designing cards for Living Tree cards.  His humor comes out in his character and art.  If you get a chance to take a class or spend some time with Chris, don't miss it.

Dale Green

Dale is a local craver that has begun to be know around the country.  Dale won the 2013 Caricature Carvers of America Best of Show.  He has been published a couple times in national carving magazines.  I've take a couple classes with Dale, a Santa carving and a Clay Sculpting class.

Dave Stetson

Dave & Machele Stetson is another member of the CCA who came to Utah.  During his class, carving wasn't the only subject he taught.  Anatomy and drawing caricatures were discussed.  This brought a new prospective to our carvings.

Pete LeClair 2012

Pete LeClair - 2010

Pete LeClair

Pete is the first instructor I ever took a class from.  Over the years I have always learned something from him.  From his eyes to the look of the caricature there's always something new and helpful.  Pete is also a CCA member.

Jon Nelson

Jon Nelson is a character of a caricature carver.  Yes, he's also a CCA member.  When I asked to take a picture with him, he grabbed a chair and jumped up onto it and said okay.  Since our hairlines are about the same we had a super great time carving and learning.

Leah Goddard

Carving with Leah was a really pleasure.  Her realistic animals take a lot of work but turn out great.  The work that goes into one of her carvings is nothing short of endless it seams.  It took a whole week to go cover everything she was teaching and to do the work she asked us to do.  She will ask you to work hard but your carving will turn out better than you could ever imagine.

Mary Dame

Mary is a Utah Valley carver who has taken class all over the country from some of the best carvers in all subjects.  Mary doesn't specialize per-se,  She is an exceptional student and as an instructor she can easily share what she has learned alone the way.  Both of these classes were done with power which was something totally new for me.  I get the chance to carve with Mary every week at the Utah Valley Woodcarvers Club of which she happens to be the 2014 Chairman.
